Gospel Reflection: John 6: 24-35

Here’s a gospel reflection based on John 6: 24-35, the suggested scripture reading for Proper 13 B (Ordinary 17 B).  It was written by Anne Osdieck.

Gospel Reflection

When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there,
they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
John 6:24

Lord,
We look for you too, seeking
because we too
are empty.

We want what lasts.

Give
us this day
the bread that is you,
and we will never hunger.
Give us the cup of your blood
and we will never
thirst.
