How to use this blog....

Welcome!

The purpose of this blog is to help worship leaders and planners access some of the scripturally-based prayers and worship resources on the internet.  Here are a few suggestions to help you find what you need quickly.

For those who follow the Lectionary
If your worship services follow the weekly scripture readings suggested by the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), you can find weekly resources by simply clicking on the appropriate “Label” (lower right side of the page) that corresponds to the Sunday you are working on (e.g. Proper 8 B, Epiphany 2 A, Lent 3 C, etc.)

For those who do not follow the Lectionary
If your worship services do not follow the weekly lectionary readings, you have a few different options. If you're working with a specific scripture text, you could try looking up that scripture passage on this Reverse Lectionary to find out when it when it appears in the Revised Common Lectionary…and then follow the suggestions above.

Or, you could search for your scripture text on one of the following Scriptural Indexes on this blog:

If you are not working with a specific scripture passage, you might find what you’re looking for by simply clicking on the appropriate “Label” at the lower right side of the page (e.g. Calls to worship, Benedictions, Prayers, Intercession, Words of Assurance, Confession, Litanies, etc.)

Or try one of these “Topical” indexes:

Calls to Worship: Topical Index
Prayers of the People by Title/Topic
Affirmation of Faith: Topical Index
Opening Prayers by Title/Topic
Benedictions: Topical Index (coming)
Confession: Topical Index (coming)
