Gospel Reflection: Mark 1: 40-45

Here’s a beautiful reflection on Mark 1:40-45, the gospel reading for February 12, 2012.  It was written by Anne Osdieck from the Center for Liturgy at Saint Louis University.

A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.” (Mark 1:40-45)

O
Healer,
wounded one,
we kneel before you.

Reach out and
put your hand on us.
Bind up our terrible wounds.

Send us,

scarred
and rough,

to be wounded
healers
too.

Caress your world.
Use us to
do it
